In a significant development, the most successful T20 side, Mumbai Indians, have unveiled their jersey for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The new jersey, which depicts the essence of the city with the iconic blue and gold colour combination, has been developed by designers Shantanu and Nikhil.
The official match and training jersey will be available for sale from March 10 onwards exclusively on MI Shop for the first 7 days from launch and then across multiple shopping platforms.
The franchise uploaded the jersey launch video on their official Twitter handle on Friday morning.
The video salutes the Mumbai people's fighting spirit, which they showcase on daily basis to stay relevant in the city of dreams.
Meanwhile, during the event, a Mumbai Indians spokesperson stated that the idea behind the new jersey was to reflect the team's ethos, which are synonymous to the spirit of the city.

"Our team jersey is a reflection of the ethos of Mumbai Indians. Over the years, Mumbai Indians have been home to many aspirations which have emerged as inspiring stories. This is synonymous to the spirit of Mumbai which opens its arms with opportunities to every individual who dreams and believes in his future. We look forward to stepping onto the field with the support and passion of our fans as we don this jersey."
Studded with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Tim David etc., Mumbai Indians will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their opening fixture of the IPL 2023.
The five-time champions have had torrid run in the previous two seasons, failing to qualify for the playoffs of the tournament. So, it will be interesting to see if the new jersey brings any change in their fortunes during the course of the showpiece event.
