After an emphatic inning against India in the fourth Test at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where the Australian opener Usman Khawaja batted with resilience to thump 104 not out by the end of the first day's play.

His marvellous ensured the visiting side posted 255 for the loss of four wickets by the 90 overs as they look to level the series. Moreover, the southpaw's knock consisted of 15 boundaries which he achieved after playing more than 250 balls.

Khawaja who is originally from Islamabad explained his emotions after the game mentioning that they were a lot of sentiments involved. Further, he spoke on the fact that the wicket was an extremely nice one to bat on as they piled on runs.

"A lot of emotion. I have been to India two times before. As an Australian, you want to take off, and that's what you do. Not really, Head took the new ball down at the start of the day. It was good to watch the ball from the other end and takes the singles. It was such a nice wicket,"

The left-hander also commented that it was more of a mental battle with himself to execute his plan perfectly.

"Plenty of times, I wished to hit over the top, which I do a lot of times in the subcontinent. It was about the mental battle with myself. I had the helmet in one hand and asked him [Green] to not give a high five but a hug. I have no superstitions, stretched a bit, and was ready to go."

With day one going to Australia, the upcoming day will be about whether India can fight back or not.
