Ahead of the 4th Test, Australian bowler, Todd Murphy has expressed his excitement on getting the chance play in front of possible record test crowd in Ahemdabad. Australia is set to face India on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium for the final test match.

During the Ashes series in 2013 , Australia vs England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground a record of 91,112 was set. It was largest attendance for a single day of test cricket. However, as per calculations the existing record is expected to be shattered during the 4th Test between the two countries.

As per reports, the 132,000 capacity stadium in Ahmedabad is expected to crush all existing records with an expectancy of more than 110,000 people on the first day itself.

While talking to reporters, Murphy said: “ It’s exciting, though I think everyone looks forward to those opportunities where you can play in front of those sort of crowds. It’ll be a great atmosphere. Something a bit different."

He also expressed being fairly inexperienced at playing in front of large crowds and how the stadium noises would be defeaning.

“I haven’t played in front of heaps of big crowds back home, so I’ve sort of come over here with just the mindset of enjoying it and embracing what comes with India and playing with a smile on my face.

“I didn’t really know what opportunities I’d get at the start of the tour so just trying to enjoy it(sic)”

India successfully defeated Australia in the first two test matches held a Nagpur and New Delhi, however, after Australia’s smashing nine-wicket win at Indore, it secured their place in World Test Championship final in June.
