Tendulkar or Kallis: Marnus Labuschagne Makes A Hilariously Tough Choice

Recently, Marnus Labuschagne was put in a spot where he had pick one between the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar and the legendary Jacques Kallis. The Australian batter, who is well known for not being diplomatic, failed to make the tough choice and gets confused in the attempt to do so. 



Labuschagne has always expressed his deep liking towards Sachin Tendulkar and his exceptional skills. He has always praised the Master Blaster and his well-reknowned straight drive. 

He had previously said, “For a righty, I’m gonna start with a Sachin Tendulkar’s straight drive. That was a shot you loved seeing. So crisp and pure. Then I’m gonna go with Ponting’s pull shot – his trademark. Everyone loved seeing the full flow of that(sic).” 

In this interactive exclusive piece with ESPNcricinfo, the right-hand batter, had several tough choices to choose from, Babar Azam’s cover drive or Joe Root’s back foot punch; bowling to Joe Root or Steve Smith; cold toasties and pizzas and even between Shubman Gill and Harry Brook.

The 28 year old batter, was asked to choose between Shubman Gill and Harry Brook. Gill has been at his top performance in all the 13 matches he has played in this year. He is also the youngest player to score a double century in ODI cricket. Much like Gill, Brook is also playing at his career best these days. However, despite the initial hesitation Marnus Labuschagne chose the latter as the next batting superstar.

Answer:"Oh, Jesus! Harry Brook. I really like the way he bats. It can be an unpopular answer, but…(sic)“

At present, Marnus sits at the top position of the ICC Test Batter ranking. Currently, he is travelling with the Australian squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2023), where he hasn't performed well to his standards.
