Shakib Al Hasan Becomes Third Player To Bag 300 Wickets And Score 6000 Runs In ODIs

It was an outstanding victory for the Bangladesh side who triumphed over the English team on the back of an impressive performance by all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in the third and final ODI that was played in Chattogram. However, the result of the game didn't matter much as the series was already in the visitor's bag after two successive wins.
The left-handed batter thumped a flawless 75 off 71 balls along with seven fours as he continued his magic with the ball later in the game bagging four wickets.
Meanwhile, on the way, he scalped his 300th ODI wicket and became the first Bangladeshi player to do while etching his name in the record books. Moreover, with this feat, he also became the third player in ODI history after Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi scored 6000 runs and pick 300 wickets.
Shakib did so after featuring in 227 matches where he has bowled with an economy of 28.96 where he has given runs at an economy of 4.45.
And to add to this, he is only the third left-armer to pick this many wickets after Daniel Vettori and Jayasuriya.
Second on the list of highest wicket-takers for Tigers' is Mashrafe Mortaza with 269 scalps which the all-rounder overtook in 2021.
Furthermore, Al Hasan is also leading the charts in terms of wickets in Tests and ODIs with 231 and 128, respectively.
Also, he is now the sixth highest wicket-taker among spinners in world cricket with Muttiah Muralitharan, Shahid Afridi, Anil Kumble, Sanath Jayasuriya and Daniel Vettori ahead of him.
