WATCH: Jemimah Rodrigues Takes DRS For No-Ball, Social Media Applauds Her Strategic Genius

Except for the coin toss, nothing went in favour of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their fixture against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Women's Premier League (WPL 2023). First, they got hammered by the dual of Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning before Jemimah Rodrigues' cameo took them to 223/2 in the first innings.

The opening duo of Verma and Lanning studded a bamboozling stand of 162 runs for the first wicket. However, a call from Rodrigues in the last over of the innings stunned many - including the RCB players and two on-field umpires - for her strategic genius.

The right-handed batter amassed a 15-ball 22*, comprising three boundaries in her unbeaten stay. Although the biggest talking point of her knock was, a Decision Review System (DRS) call that he took against a debatable Megan Schutt delivery.

On the third delivery of the last over, the Aussie seamer bowled a full toss on the stumps - to which the star batter kneeled on one knee before he mopped it to fine leg for a boundary.

After the umpire signalled a fair delivery, Rodrigues reviewed it and went upstairs, but for nothing, as the ball tracker showed that the ball was dipping and wasn't a no-ball.

DC batters had the best of times with the bat at the Brabourne Stadium, as they notched the fourth-highest total in women's franchise T20 - courtesy of Shafali (84), Lanning (72), Marizanne Kapp (39*) and Rodrigues (22*).

The Smriti Mandhana-led RCB batters will have to blast the bowlers similarly if they want to challenge DC's total in their WPL opening fixture.
