7:04 PM IST | Aayush: We are done with the match 2 of the WPL 2023. I take your leave. But that's not it from our side. Stay tuned to OneCricket for more content.

6:55 PM IST | Aayush: It all started with Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning's pyrotechnics. The duo scored 50-plus knocks. Marizanne Kapp took the onus the slog overs as Delhi fired the highest total of the WPL, 223/2.

DC's bowlers complemented the batters very well. After Smriti Mandhana's dismissal, RCB surrendered. While Alice Capsey sent the RCB openers packing, Tara Norris firstly got rid of dangerous-looking Ellyse Perry and then demolished the middle and lower-middle order to keep RCB at 163/8 at the end of the innings.

That's a loss for RCB. They end up at 163/8, suffering a 60-run defeat. DC could not have asked for a better performance than this. After an entertaining batting half, DC returned to couple it up with their bowling brilliance with Tara Norris running the show with her five-wicket haul

Tara Norris has bagged a five-for, the first of the WPL. What a moment for her. She tries a slower ball as Knight plays a shot towards the cover region but could not clear the field.

6:34 PM IST | Aayush: Megan Schutt and Heather Knight are fighting a lost battle. But these runs can prove to br very crucial in the business stage of the tournament and will lessen the damage to their net run rate.

6:29 PM IST | Aayush: RCB are moving towards their first defeat of the WPL. But more than the loss, it should be the absolute humbling that should worry them. However, consider the quality the side possesses, it could be an aberration.

Shikha Pandey makes a contribution. Asha Shobana becomes her victim. Shobana top-edges a short-pitch delivery to the fielder.

It's a mere formality now. As the match enter its fourth time-out, DC are just four wickets away from their maiden WPL win.

That has to be it. Norris is at it again. With Richa Ghosh's wicket, DC have virtually sealed the match. And as I write, she has taken another. Kanika Ahuja's wicket makes up a four-for for the American.

6:10 PM IST | Aayush: Tara Norris is the only associate player in WPL 2023 and she makes an impact straightaway. Wow!!!

Norris ends Disha's misery. Her 11-ball 9 nine did not help RCB's cause at all. With the pressure mounting on her, she tried to execute the pull only to give a catch to the backward square leg fielder.

Tara Norris shows Perry the way towards the dressing room. As Perry tried to play towards the off-side, she gets beaten by the low bounce and had the ball hitting the stumps.

6:01 PM IST | Aayush: We are halfway through the innings. With the required run-rate hovering around 13 , RCB have to go all out now. Ellyse Perry has stepped her foot on the accelerator. I reckon that RCB have missed the trick by sending in Disha over Knight and Ghosh.

A srategic time-out has been taken. With both of RCB's main batters knocked down, DC should have an easy time in the remainder of the innings. However, it must not be forgotten that Heather Knight and Richa Ghosh are yet to bat.

Disha Kasat is in at no. 4 for RCB.

Mandhana persihes!!! Capsey puts it 100 percent in favour of DC. She gives the ball the flight as Mandhana sends an easy catch to Shikha. Is that the game?

RCB are placed well in the contest with Madhana in the middle. They are 54/1 at the end of the powerplay. While the first innings had almost nothing for them, they must be feeling a bit relaxed now. However, DC still have their hold at the game.

Ellyse Perry is the new batter

So, the third umpire adjudged it out. Devine bites the dust. That's the first blow for RCB. Shafali dives to her right to take a stunner. Alice Capsey has given DC the breakthrough.

5:35 PM IST | Aayush: The third umpire is checking in for a catch.

5:30 PM IST | Aayush: The run-chase is on. RCB are in the mood for a fight. Another 14-run over takes them to 31/0 at the end of three.

5:25 PM IST | Aayush: Devine comes in to the act now. She drives a Shikha Pandey delivery for a boundary.

5:25 PM IST | Aayush: Mandhana greets Kapp with two fours and a six. This must have not gone down well with Kapp who is being given the taste of her own medicine.

5:18 PM IST | Aayush: Shikha begins nicely. She did not let the RCB openers any easy pickings, giving away only three runs in the first over.

5:18 PM IST | Aayush: The action is about to resume. Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine have come to open for RCB. Shikha Pandey will start the proceedings for DC.

Let's look at a few tweets before the second innings start

5:08 PM IST | Aayush: Phew, what an exhilarating first half that was. Delhi Capitals finish at 223/2. DC openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning scored fifties. The unrelenting pair gave their team a flying opening stand of 162 runs.

However, they were taken down by Heather Knight in the same over.

Jemimah Rodrigues and Marizanne Kapp did not let the run-rate fall down as the duo cashed on over opportunity given to them. While Jemimah scored 22 runs off 15 deliveries, Kapp hammered a 17-ball 39.

5:02 PM IST | Aayush: The on-field umpire's decision stays. That has not been given a no-ball.

5:00 PM IST | Aayush: Jemimah scores a four and immediately asks for a review as she thinks that was a no-ball.

4:58 PM IST | Aayush: Mandhana goes greedy. As Knight took two wickets, she prefered her over Renuka but the former did not repay to the trust and instead gets deposited for two maximums.

DC crosses 200 runs. Kapp clears the mid-wicket boundary with a nonchalant six.

4:54 PM IST | Aayush: Two overs left in innings. DC would want to reach at least 220 which is still 25 runs away.

4:51 PM IST | Aayush: Preeti drops a tough a tough catch off her bowling. After hitting two consecutive fours, Jemimah comes down the track just to chip it over the bowler but got saved by a small margin.

4:47 PM IST | Aayush: Kapp gets going as she plays a lofted shot in front of the wicket for a six.

4:43 PM IST | Aayush: Two new batters Jemimah Rodrigues and Marizanne Kapp are now at the crease.

Knight's double strike brings RCB back in the game. Shafali comes down the track but edges the ball to the wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh.

Something to celebrate for RCB. England captain bowls out Australia skipper. Heather Knight cleans up Lanning as the latter aimed for another boundary.

It is time for another strategic break. But only one team i.e. need it at the moment.

4:34 PM IST | Aayush: RCB are going down like a stumbling block. They are yet to know who will push them up in the contest. Meanwhile, Shafali and Lanning continue to make merry as their partnership goes over the 150-run mark in the 14th over.

4:25 PM IST | Aayush: Who will break it open for RCB? What does captain Smriti Mandhana do next. With 135 runs already scored till the 12th over, DC's total would soar way above 200-run mark. And that could be all over for RCB even before the second innings begin.

The partnership between Shafali and Lanning is the first to touch 100 runs in inaugural WPL season

Meg Lanning follows her partner as with a 30-ball 50 she announces her arrival in WPL 2023.

Shafali brings up her maiden WPL fifty with a single. It has come at a strike-rate of around 168 and DC could not have expected more from their 19-year-old opener.

4:10PM IST | Aayush: Shafali toying with the bowlers here, So is Lanning as runs keep coming in heaps. Shobana gets smacked for two sixes and a four in the ninth over.

These batters are not just scoring in boundaries but the strike-rotation has also been top-notch.

4:04 PM IST | Aayush: Asha Shobana bowls a tight over of seven runs if compare it with the pace at which the match is moving.  She almost created a chance but the ball bounced in front of the fielder.

RCB take the strategic time-out and rightly so after Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma's onslaught. As many as 10 boundaries were scored in the six overs as DC sit afloat at 57/0.

3:56 PM IST | Aayush: Sophie Devine is left pondering about her line and length. Shafali did not let good length deliveries go unwasted as she scores three boundaries to end the powerplay.

3:50 PM IST | Aayush: Ellyse Perry comes to bowl her first over and Shafali did not even spare as she sends a loose delivery for a four.

3:45 PM IST | Aayush: Shafali welcomes Preeti with a six. She continues to keep a steady run-rate in the poweplay.

3:44 PM IST | Aayush: RCB bring off-spinner Preeti Bose into the attack.

3:43 PM IST | Aayush: Renuka maintains good line and length as her second over yielded just five runs for DC.

3:39 PM IST | Aayush: The Capitals take bull by its horns. 14 runs came off Megan Schutt's over. While Shafali started with a four, Lanning coupled it up with two more boundaries to take the score to 17/0 after two overs.

3:37 PM IST | Aayush: Shafali Verma is up and running, scores first boundary of the game in the second over. She gets her wrists to use and smashes a four.

3:35 PM IST | Aayush: The first over is done. It was a quite one. DC get just three runs off it.

3:31 PM IST | Aayush: Meg Lanning takes the strike on the first ball. Renuka Singh bowls at the off-stump as Lanning pushes the ball straight to the fielder.

The players are marching onto the field and the match is about to commence.

Pitch Report: It is predicted to be a high-scoring clash with plenty of runs on offer. The short boundaries of the ground will make it even more tougher for the bowlers as batters get filled with advantages.
