Former Indian cricketer and legend Sachin Tendulkar penned down a heartwarming note to remember former Australian leg-spinner and his good friend Shane Warne on the latter's first death anniversary.

Shane Warne, the greatest ever spin bowler to grace the cricket field, passed away due to a suspected heart attack at 52 while vacationing in Thailand on March 4 last year, leaving the entire sporting world in mourning.

Tendulkar shared a special bond with Shane Warne, the late Australian spin master, both on and off the field.

To mark the first anniversary of Warne's death, Tendulkar shared an emotional post on Twitter. In a touching tribute that included a picture of them together, Tendulkar wrote:

"We have had some memorable battles on the field & shared equally memorable moments off it. I miss you not only as a great cricketer but also as a great friend. I am sure you are making heaven a more charming place than it ever was with your sense of humour and charisma, Warnie!"

Shane Warne's unparalleled legacy as a spin bowler saw him take 708 wickets in 145 Tests, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker in Test history.

He also led the Rajasthan Royals to victory in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League.
