Australia's most promising talent William Pucovski is returning into action for Victoria after spending time away from cricket since last October. Pucovski has been named in Victoria's Second XI side, in their match against Tasmania, which starts on March 6.

Pucovski featured for Melbourne over the past few months while playing in the Victorian Premier League. The 25-year-old was in line to receive a national recall, however, after a few Sheffield Shield games, the opener decided to take an indefinite break from cricket.

As per ZeroWicket, Cricket Victoria's Head of Male Cricket David Hussey, speaking to the media, confirmed Puvski's return.

Pucovski has played 29 First-Class and 14 List-A matches, scoring a combined 2,341 runs.

Here's what Hussey said

"We're pleased to see Will's progress and his desire to return to Second XI cricket. From the outset we haven't set definitive timelines on his return, but having played for Melbourne and the work he's done off the field over the last few months, he feels ready for this and we wish him all the best."

The one-Test-old player has been marred by injuries and concussions over the years, which has forced the batter to sit out for long spells during his short professional career.

The Victoria-born did indulge in commentary gigs during his time away from the game.
