In a remarkable achievement, ace Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has completed 500 wickets in international cricket.

Jadeja dismissed Travis Head to attain the landmark during India's ongoing clash against Australia in the third Test in Indore.

Overall, the 34-year-old is the seventh bowler and fourth spinner to enter the 500-wicket club for India across formats.

Furthermore, he became only the second Indian after the legendary Kapil Dev to have 5000 runs and 500 wickets to his name in international cricket.

Most wickets for India across formats

  • Anil Kumble: 953 Wickets in 401 Matches
  • Harbhajan Singh: 707 Wickets in 365 Matches
  • Kapil Dev: 687 Wickets in 356 Matches
  • Ravichandran Ashwin: 686 Wickets in 269 Matches
  • Zaheer Khan: 597 Wickets in 303 Matches
  • Javagal Srinath: 551 Wickets in 296 Matches
  • Ravindra Jadeja: 500 Wickets in 298 Matches

Regarded as one of India's finest-ever all-rounders, Jadeja made a remarkable comeback to international cricket after missing a considerable amount of action due to injury.

The left-arm spinner starred with both bat and ball in the first Test against Australia, scoring 70 runs and scalping seven wickets.

He continued his dominance over the visitors in the second Test in Delhi, helping India take an unassailable 2-0 lead by registering a sensational seven-fer in the second innings.

However, unfortunately, the southpaw got out cheaply, as India were bowled out for a paltry 109 in their first innings in the Indore Test. As of writing, Australia are comfortably placed at 54 for one, with Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne batting on 23* and 14*, respectively.
