On Monday, Middlesex County Cricket Club (MCCC) signed South African all-rounder Keshav Maharaj for the upcoming 2023 season. Maharaj will be available to play in both the County Championship and T20 Blast competitions for the club.

However, Maharaj will miss Middlesex's first two matches in the Division Two championship but will feature in the remaining eight as stated in a club statement.

Maharaj is the club's second overseas signing this season and will join fellow countryman Pieter Malan

The 33-year-old sounded excited about his new association with the County and looked forward to bringing success to his side.

Here's what Maharaj said

"I'm really excited to be linking up with such a professional and experienced county and am looking forward to wearing the Middlesex colours and calling the Home of Cricket my home.

"I hope I can contribute to the team's success across the various formats and am excited to form part of the Middlesex family."

Maharaj had earlier played for clubs like Lancashire and Yorkshire, respectively. Since making his debut back in 2016, Maharaj has played 48 Tests, 27 ODIs, and 25 T20Is, picking up 203 wickets combined.

Middlesex's Director of Cricket Alan Coleman expressed delight and welcomed Maharaj into the MCCC family.
