After two humiliating defeats on the Indian soil, the Australian side have been plagued by a plethora of injuries hampering their plans. Moreover, the unavailability of skipper Pat Cummins for the third Test have pushed them further back as four more players have returned back home.

They have been teased outrightly by the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin who have mastered the Indian conditions making it way too difficult for the visitors to score runs on low and slow surfaces in the subcontinent.

Former Australian pace spearhead Mitchell Johnson has fired his shots on the national side for 'not caring enough' about this tour. He lambasted the team for not giving their best and in fact, losing out in a shameful manner.

"From the outside, it doesn’t look as if they care enough. Losing isn’t the issue. It’s the way they’ve folded that has been the most disappointing part,"

Moreover, the left-armer was astonished after knowing that the stand-in captain for the next game Steve Smith went on a holiday mid-series.

"This would have been a great opportunity for Travis Head to lead the team and with the trophy is already lost, there’s not too much to lose. I was surprised Smith was allowed to go to Dubai with his wife for a holiday this week after the second Test match,"

"That kind of stuff has happened mid-tour before but I’m not sure whether it has happened when the team is getting pumped. When you’re vice-captain and now captain, is it a good look? I guess you’d have to ask the other players."

Australia will be hopeful of making a comeback in the third Test against India which begins on 1st March in Indore.
