After the sacking of KL Rahul as India's vice-captain, the post has been left vacant with many of the potential candidates being discussed. India's skipper Rohit Sharma was handed the responsibility of appointing his deputy himself before the next Test begins against Australia.

With many options being discussed, one of them could be ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who was suggested by former international bowler Harbhajan Singh.

Singh reminded of Jadeja's ability to deliver during crunch situations and most importantly with both bat and ball. Moreover, he mentioned that the left-hander is one of the best all-rounders in the world at this stage with just Ben Stokes being the only player who is in that column.

“I think that kind of a player is Ravindra Jadeja. I think the vice-captaincy now should be given to Jadeja because it will give him more responsibility. He has been playing really well. As a senior player, he has played for a long time. He is at the peak of his abilities in his batting and bowling,”

“I don’t think there is any all-rounder in the world who is better than Ravindra Jadeja. Ben Stokes is in that league, he is also a big-match player. I think if you look at his performance, his batting has clicked. It seems as if he will score in every match. He should get vice-captaincy in Tests. He can get it in ODIs. This is my thought."

It should be added that Jadeja was removed as Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) captain mid-season last year after his side's poor performance. However, now, it remains to be seen if he gets the opportunity in the international circuit before the third Test against the Aussies begin on 1st March in Indore.
