Will Jacks Drafted In Place Of Tom Abell For Bangladesh ODIs

The big-hitting English all-rounder Will Jacks has been called up to replace injured batter Tom Abell for their upcoming tour to Bangladesh. Jacks is currently with the English Test squad who are fighting in the second game against New Zealand after having won the first match.

Tom Abell was previously ruled out of the series due to a side strain he suffered while bowling for England Lions against Sri Lanka A.

"Will Jacks has been called into the squad and is due to arrive in Dhaka this evening. Jacks has been in New Zealand with our Test squad."

The matches will be played under ODI Super League with the first game being played on the 1st of March, and the final one scheduled on the 6th.

Moreover, the England team's media manager Matt Somerford confirmed the news to Cricbuzz stating,

"Tom Abell was ruled out before the series after suffering a side injury with the England Lions during their tour of Sri Lanka last week. Jacks replaces Abell."

Further, this will be England's first tour to Bangladesh since 2016 where they played 3 ODIs and 2 Tests.

The Three Lions have already begun their preparation for the series as they arrived on 24th February in Dhaka.

Apart from the ODIs, the two sides will be engaged in the three T20Is that will be held from 9th March.
