The ICC Women's T20I World Cup 2023 is down to the summit clash. As anticipated Australia have found their way into the match that matters. But after a losing start against Sri Lanka, South Africa has made their way into the finals surprising quite a few cricket followers. 

Australia have been impeccable in the tournament. They have literally steam rolled past their opponents in the group stage. In the semi finals they faced one of the strongest contenders of the tournament, India. 

In the first semi final of the tournament, Australia batted first and posted a total of 172 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs. Much unlike their opponents, South Africa had a nightmarish start to the tournament as they lost their first match against Sri Lanka. But after they made a strong back and picked up the necessary wins to make it to the semi finals. 

In the semi finals, South Africa had to face England. The hosts batted first in the match and posted a total of 164 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs. In the chase, England went close but were stopped at 158 for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. South Africa won the match by six runs and find themselves in the grand finale against the defending champions.
