2023 has been a massive year in cricket, with multiple global events taking place already; the first-ever Under 19 Women's T20 World Cup concluded recently, while the Women's T20 World Cup is underway.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, looking at the expected line-up of ICC events, wishes that Rohit Sharma and Co. manage to clinch both the World Test Championship 2021-2023 and the coveted 50-overs World Cup Trophy due this year.

The Indian team are a win away from booking their place in the final of the WTC, which will take place in England at The Oval in June.

The World Cup is scheduled to be held in India between October and November.

Speaking to Sportstar, the 1983 World Cup winning player stated that it will be a fantastic year if India also brings home the Asia Cup title.

 Here's what Gavaskar said

"When you see a champion being felicitated, you also want to be one. And when your athletes are improving their personal bests, that is when you know everything is on the right track. There are two titles that I'd like the Indian men's team to win — one is the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup is the other. There is, of course, the Asia Cup in between these two. If that comes back to India, nothing quite like it."

India will take on Australia in the third Test at Indore next week, having already retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, winning both the Nagpur and Delhi Tests in handsome fashion.
