We've played some good cricket: Tim Southee upbeat about New Zealand's chances

New Zealand's long-standing record of remaining unbeaten in Test series at home since 2017, is under threat as England look to win the second Test tomorrow and complete a clean sweep over the hosts.

Led by new Black Caps skipper Tim Southee, the home side will be hoping to keep their clean sheet intact at Basin Reserve, where they have not lost a Test in their last five outings, which includes three back-to-back wins.

As quoted by Stuff, Southee said New Zealand have played good cricket in both home and away tours, and are eager to use conditions to their advantage.

Here's what Southee said

"We've played some good cricket in our conditions and also in other parts of the world for a long period of time. We had a group of guys, six or seven guys, that were a part of the side for close to 10 years. And that’s slightly changing now, but that's exciting times as well because that presents opportunities for other guys.

But I think we know these conditions reasonably well and having won a few series here and a lot of games in that time, I guess that's where your home advantage comes into it.”

The fast bowler refused to pin the blame on the batters for their loss in the Pink Ball encounter and backed them to come good at Basin Reserve, where most of their top order has scored runs in the past.

Southee also confirmed that Matt Henry will feature in the playing XI.
