The water pipes have been broken in an Indian women's already ceiling-leaking house. If reports are to be believed, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and key all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar will miss the semifinal clash of the Women's T20 World Cup 2023 against mighty Australia.

As per latest updates, Vastrakar has been ruled out of the tournament and Sneh Rana has been added to the Indian squad. The ICC Technical Committee has approved Rana as replacement for the pace-bowling all-rounder.

As reported by Indian Express, the two Indian cricketers got admitted to a local hospital on the eve of the all-important clash before they were discharged on Wednesday evening itself.

Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Radha Yadav also missed India's last league game against Ireland due to being unwell.

The Women in Blue are already heading into the knockout clash as underdogs, and these dents hamper India's chances to a great extent.

The skipper, who promoted herself to Number 3 in the last game, is struggling with runs thus far in the ICC event. And if Harmanpreet misses out, then her deputy Smriti Mandhana will handle the reigns, and Harleen Deol will come as a fill-in.

Vastrakar, on the other hand, lends India a massive balance with her pace bowling and ability to tonk the long ball. She has formed a formidable bowling pair with Renuka Singh, but now her unavailability can see a young Anjali Sarvani making her World Cup debut.

The semifinal clash between Australia and India will occur on Thursday at the Newlands Stadium, Cape Town.
