In a remarkable turn of events, Australia have named a strong 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against India. The squad sees the return of Glenn Maxwell, who missed a lot of action recently due a freak leg injury.

While white-ball specialists like Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis and Adam Zampa have been included in the team, David Warner and Ashton Agar, who recently flew back home, will rejoin the camp for the ODIs.

Meanwhile, injury-prone West Australian duo of Mitchell Marsh and Jhye Richardson have also made it into the squad. As expected, Pat Cummins will lead the side, which is a mix of experience and youth.

Here's what chairman of selectors George Bailey said

"With the World Cup just over seven months away, these matches in India are an important step in our preparation. Glenn, Mitchell and Jhye are all important players in what we think the squad might look like come October. It would be great for Josh to be part of this series but we have taken a conservative view ahead of a very important winter in England of which he will be an integral part."
