Pretoria Capitals' Eathan Bosch had a sensational SA20 2023 as the pacer snared 15 wickets in the tournament, also bagging the Rising Star award for his superlative performance.

The 24-year-old was the Capitals' second-highest wicket-taker in the event as he put the ball in the basket in his first shot, playing his first major competition in the form of SA20 2023.

While also accepting that he did not have his eyes set particularly on the prestigious award, Eathan, who eventually claimed the prize, avowed to be proud of it.

Acknowledging his SA20 experience, Eathan will bring it to test as he wears the Dolphins' jersey for the remainder of the season.

Here's what Eathan said:

"It’s not something I thought about at the beginning of the season. I didn’t even think I was going to play much. So, to play every game was pretty special. Honestly, I didn’t know about it (Rising Star award) until the semi-final.

There were obviously a lot of youngsters that put in incredible performances, so I’m helluva proud to be awarded the prize. I think it’s just a good thing for South African cricket that so many youngsters put up their hands.

"I have definitely learnt a lot. To rub shoulders with all the international guys. It’s been awesome. To learn as much as I have already. Obviously, I can only take it forward in my game."

While Eathan had a wonderful season, his team Pretoria Capitals fell short of the title, losing the final against Sunrisers Eastern Cape by four wickets.
