Pakistan's Nida Dar becomes highest wicket-taker in Women's T20I cricket

One of the most dependable players in the Pakistan women's team for more than a decade, off-break spinner Nida Dar has achieved a remarkable milestone while playing the World Cup game against England Women.

The 36-year-old, who is captaining the side on an interim basis, grabbed the wicket of opponent skipper Heather Knight which was her 126th wicket in T20I cricket. Also, by claiming this many scalps, she has now become the highest wicket-taker in the shortest format.

She overtook West Indies' Anisa Mohammed who is at 125 dismissals in 117 matches whereas Dar recorded her feat in 130 games.

Moreover, she has bowled with an average of 18 while giving away runs at an economy of 5.44 in her T20I career.

Dar has been a prime member of the side as she has also scored 1676 runs with the bat for her side.

Further, she was assigned the captaincy duties for this game as the original skipper was ruled out after suffering a groin injury.

In this game, Dar bowled four overs gave away 47 runs and picked up a wicket but this couldn't stop the ruthless England side to score 213 runs after Nat Sciver thumped 40-ball 81*.
