In the upcoming World Cup game against England Women, Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof and Ayesha Naseem have been ruled out of the clash that is set to take place at Newlands, Capetown.

Maroof sustained a groin niggle during her side's 3-run loss against West Indies where she could manage 26 from 33 balls whereas Naseem had a hamstring injury and has been asked to undertake four to six weeks of rest.

In Maroof's absence, all-rounder and vice-captain Nida Dar has been handed over the captaincy duties.

Moreover, Sadaf Shamas has been added into the main squad in place of Naseem and will be playing today's game.

What PCB media advisory said

"Pakistan women’s team captain Bismah Maroof will not be available to the side for today’s Group B match against England in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. She sustained a niggle in groin during her 33-ball 26 against the West Indies on Sunday.

"Vice-captain Nida Dar will lead the side in today’s game at the Newlands, which will begin at 1800 PKT.

"The PCB medical panel has advised four to six weeks of rest to Ayesha Naseem, who pulled her hamstring in the match against Ireland on 15 February."

This will be Pakistan's last game of the group stage, however, it will be their last game in this edition too as they have already been eliminated after India defeated Ireland yesterday.
