India emerged victorious in the second Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Delhi against Australia, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

This resounding victory has facilitated Indian skipper Rohit Sharma's induction into an exclusive list of accomplished leaders, including former Indian captain MS Dhoni and Pakistan's Babar Azam.

Remarkably, in the past fifty years of Test cricket, only Dhoni, Rohit, and Babar have won their first four Test matches as national skippers.

Last year, Rohit steered India to a 2-0 series win against Sri Lanka's Dimuth Karunaratne, exhibiting his prowess as a leader.

Under his captaincy, India has also taken a 2-0 lead in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The team's victory in the Delhi Test has enabled them to retain the coveted trophy.

Dhoni's initiation as a Test captain transpired in 2008 against South Africa, with India emerging victorious by eight wickets.

Subsequently, the Indian veteran guided his team to two triumphs against the Aussies in 2008. On the other hand, Babar assumed leadership of the Pakistan team in Tests in January-February 2021 and propelled them to a 2-0 triumph over South Africa.

In addition, Pakistan secured a 2-0 victory against Zimbabwe in a two-match Test series under the Pakistan captain's captaincy.

As for Rohit Sharma, he is slated to lead India in the third and penultimate Test of the series, set to commence on March 1 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

The skipper will have an opportunity to extend his winning streak to five games by beating Australia. If he manages to do so, India will clinch the series and secure its place in the World Test Championship final.
