The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has witnessed a flurry of withdrawals lately, with several players injured.

The latest on the list is Lahore Qalandars' Liam Dawson, who is ruled out of the remainder of the PSL 2023 season following an injury.

Dawson sustained an ankle injury during Lahore's last encounter against Karachi Kings on Sunday, which they lost by 67 runs.

The England all-rounder posted on the social media site Instagram about his injury and confirmed his unavailability.

Here's what Dawson wrote

"Disappointed to be ruled out of the rest of the PSL due to injury. Thank you Lahore Qalandars for the opportunity to play in Pakistan again. Good luck for the remaining games."

Dawson will be out of action for at least four to six weeks. The 32-year-old played two matches for the defending champions this season, scoring one run and claiming a solitary wicket.

Considered a T20 specialist, Dawson has played 221 matches, scored 2,257 runs, and claimed 169 wickets. He debuted for England in 2016 and has since featured in 11 T20Is.

Meanwhile, the Qalandars management is looking for a suitable replacement for Dawson and will make an announcement soon.

Languishing at the bottom of the PSL 8 table, the Shaheen Shah Afridi-led side will take on Quetta Gladiators in Karachi tonight.
