It will be a cracking semi if that's the case: Megan Schutt on possibly facing India

Australia became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023, after topping Group 1. The Meg Lanning-led side have won all their matches so far in the competition to book a place in the final four, a feat they last achieved in the 2010 edition.

The defending champions will play the second-placed side in Group 2, which could be England or India. Pacer Megan Schutt said that a semi-final clash against India would be a 'cracking' contest.

This will mean a replay of the 2020 WT20 WC Final, where Australia prevailed over India by 85 runs, to lift the trophy.

Here's what Schutt said

"It's probably a good thing if we come up against India because we played them not that long ago. I feel like both teams know each other inside out and have had some really good competition recently.

It will be a cracking semi if that's the case, we don't really know who we're playing, it's not locked in just yet, but I think it'd be an amazing game."

England have already entered the semi-finals, and a win against Pakistan will ensure they don't lock horns Australia.

Schutt further hailed Australia's performance so far in the competition, saying that all three facets are working in tandem for them.
