Former Australian wicket-keeper, Ian Healy has criticised Australia for not playing a tour match ahead of the four-match Test series against India. The Pat Cummins led side practiced in Bengaluru, but did not play a single warm-up game that eventually back-fired on them.

Australia lost the first Test by an innings and 132 runs in Nagpur, and despite being in a strong position in the Delhi Test, they surrendered in front of the Indian spinners and lost the Test match by 6-wickets.

Following the defeat inside three days in Delhi, Ian Healy has lambasted the Australian team, stating that there is no shortcut to Test match success.

“Never again tell me we’re not playing a tour match to begin, at least two, there’s no shortcuts to Test match success,” Healy stated on SENQ Breakfast.

Talking about the second Test, Australia were in a strong position at the end of Day 2, with Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne leading the attack. But the tables turned on Day 3, with Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja wreaking havoc, picking up all ten wickets between them.

Australia's problem worsen when Pat Cummins flew back home due to personal reasons and Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the series due to uneasiness in his Achilles' foot.

The third Test of the series commences from March 1 in Indore.
