Show him some respect: Mark Waugh on Ravindra Jadeja

After an outstanding spell of spin bowling by India's left-armer Ravindra Jadeja who picked up a seven-fer to decimate the visiting Australian side on the 3rd day of the second Test, thus helping India to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

The Australian side were finding to hard to face his deliveries which forced them to try and play sweeps on most of his balls which caused a flurry of wickets in the first session.

Now, former Aussie cricketer Mark Waugh has lambasted the Pat Cummins-led side after they were trying to sweep against Jadeja as he reckoned that he is targeting the stumps all the time which is a kind of big danger.

Moreover, he mentioned that since the pitch doesn't have much bounce and Jadeja's deliveries were skidding, it wasn't a wise decision to sweep against him. Further, he added that they needed to show him respect rather than playing some careless shots.

"In these conditions, in these sort of pitches, we saw here, we saw in Nagpur where there is a bit of natural variation in the surface. And he is particularly dangerous when the pitch is keeping low because he is threatening the stumps all time.

"So as a batsman against Jadeja, you just got to be patient, I would not sweep against Jadeja because he is skidding low at the stumps, that was a mistake that the Australians made in this game. You just got to show him respect."

Australia's third Test against India begins on 1st March at Indore's Holkar stadium.
