Rahul Dravid to continue backing out-of-form KL Rahul despite repeated failures

After a horrible run of form in the past few months, India's opener KL Rahul is all set to retain to place in the side confirmed head coach Rahul Dravid.

KL couldn't turn up with the bat in the series where he could only manage 17 & 1 in the two innings of the Delhi Test which India won by six wickets.

Not just Dravid but Indian captain Rohit Sharma also expressed the need to back Rahul during his lean phase which could end anytime soon.

Moreover, the coach reckoned that he has got centuries overseas in tough conditions for India and his backing is necessary as there isn't any technical fault with his technique.

“I think he needs to trust his processes. This is just a phase, he has been one of our most successful overseas openers. He’s got hundreds in South Africa and England, we’ll continue to back him.

Dravid's stand is purely based on the fact that the right-hander has been influential for the Men in Blue in the past and could again come back to the fore.

“I believe he has the quality and class to come out of this. It is great working with this unit, managing formats is the most difficult part. But there’s not a lot of technical coaching, just simple conversations and challenging them, and giving them a pat on the back when they do well."

India's next match against Australia will be played from 1st March in Indore.
