Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a noteworthy record of four titles to their name, are indeed a formidable force to reckon with on their home turf at Chepauk.

Their unparalleled success at home is apparent through their impeccable track record, and which is also confirmed by their accomplished performances over the years. Speaking about the same, the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants, Gautam Gambhir, expressed his views, stating that beating CSK on their home ground would be a Herculean task.

The former Indian opener opined that the Super Kings might not need to clinch too many away matches, given their exceptional track record at home. He explicated that when a team emerges victorious in most of their home games, they are not required to emerge victorious in many games on the road.

Consequently, Gambhir noted that it would be a daunting challenge for visiting teams to play against the Super Kings on their home ground. The Indian veteran further added that in the past, all matches were played under similar conditions, but this time, the situation would be even more challenging for teams since various venues have different dimensions, wickets, and combinations.

The cricketer-turned-politician reckoned that during the auction, all franchises prepared their teams while considering their home conditions. He pointed out that the Chennai team, for example, possesses players such as Maheesh Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja, who are better suited to playing on their home ground.

The southpaw emphasized that under no circumstances should any team be taken lightly. In his view, if the tournament were to be held across two or three venues, it would be possible to name two or three teams as favourites.
