England's dynamic pace duo, James Anderson and Stuart Broad, have etched their names in the history books by claiming the record for most Test wickets as a pair, outperforming the legendary Australian duo of Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath.

The English duo surpassed McGrath and Shane Warne when Broad clean-bowled Devon Conway early in the final session of the ongoing first Test between New Zealand and England in Mount Maunganui.

Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne had long held the record for the most Test wickets as a bowling pair with 1,001 dismissals to their name. However, James Anderson and Stuart Broad have now surpassed this incredible milestone by taking 1,002 Test wickets together.

The dynamic pace duo of Broad and Anderson achieved a combined tally of 1,002 Test wickets in 133 matches, taking slightly longer than the legendary pair of McGrath and Warne, who reached the landmark in just 104 matches.

The legendary bowling pair of Stuart Broad and James Anderson began the Test match with a combined total of 997 wickets, and were just two short of the world-record.

James Anderson and Stuart Broad have been the pillars of the England bowling attack, shouldering the responsibility of taking wickets and leading the team's charge in the longest format of the game.
