Peshawar Zalmi rope in all-rounder Dasun Shanaka for PSL 2023

Sri Lanka’s white-ball captain, Dasun Shanaka, has joined the Peshawar Zalmi for this year's riveting edition of the Pakistan Super League. The lanky cricketer, who is renowned for his exceptional all-round abilities took to his Instagram story to share the news with his fans.
Shanaka will join his compatriot Bhanuka Rajapaksa in the Peshawa Zalmi squad. Furthermore, West Indies' highly touted all-rounder, Rovman Powell, has also made his way onto the Zalmi squad, who joined the team in time for their recent match against Multan Sultans.
It will be interesting to see how Babar Azam uses the services of these skilled all-rounders. The Zalmi, who won their opening match against Karachi Kings, failed to replicate their performance against the Sultans as they faced a humbling 56 run loss. The Babar-led side will look to bounce back and get back to winning ways in their next game against Quetta Gladiators on Monday.
Injuries plague PSL 8
Meanwhile, PSL 2023 has unfortunately been struck with a spate of injuries. Karachi Kings pacer, Mir Hamza, was recently ruled out of the remainder of the tournament. Hamza, who sustained a fractured finger during the Kings' opening match against the Zalmi, has been replaced by the talented Akif Javed, who will undoubtedly be eager to make his mark on this prestigious tournament.
Adding to the unfortunate list of injuries, South African ace Wayne Parnell will also be missing out on this year's PSL due to an injury. As a result, the Sultans have brought in the West Indian, Carlos Brathwaite, to bolster their already impressive squad.
It remains to be seen how these changes will affect the outcome of the PSL, but one thing is for sure that this tournament is not for the faint of heart. The competition which is still in it’s initial phase has already delivered some nail-biting thrillers.
