Whichever the league, I just want to put the best foot forward: Tom Curran

England's Tom Curran had a stellar International League T20 (ILT20) 2023 playing for the Desert Vipers, where he scalped 12 wickets. Curran, post a long injury layoff last year, finds himself out of England's white-ball squads, with several young bowlers coming through the ranks.

The 27-year-old announced an indefinite break from red-ball cricket last month in a bid to prolong his career.

From helping England lift the ICC T20 World Cup title to being the highest-bid player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, Sam Curran,  Curran's younger brother, has been in the news for all the right reasons lately.

Sadly, the bowling all-rounder went unsold in the auction. Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Curran opened up about T20 cricket and more.

Here's what Tom said

“There are so many leagues now. Obviously, IPL is still probably the pinnacle, and has been for some time now. But it's tough as well. There are a lot of leagues happening right now with very high standards. Whichever the league is, I just want to put the best foot forward and perform for my team,”

The Cape Town-born further stated he is not focused on playing four-day cricket this year and will feature in The Hundred and T20 Blast extensively.

Curran's immediate assignment is the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023, where he will feature for Islamabad United.
