During England's second victory in the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup 2023, young Alice Capsey, Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn rose to the occasion and bagged a spellbinding win over Ireland at the Boland Park, Paarl.

Batting at Number 3, the 18-year-old Capsey eased the English chase of 106 runs with her swashbuckling 22-ball 51 to win the Player of the Match award.

After her dismissal in the 8th over with the score at 70-2, the rest of England's batters crumbled for a bit; however, they eventually chased it down in 15 overs.

With the ball, Ecclestone and Glenn picked three wickets apiece, while Charlie Dean bagged two strong scalps in the match.

Apart from that, the English vice-captain Natalie Sciver and the leg-spinner Glenn made headlines by surpassing milestones in the World Cup game against the Irish.

Sciver became the fifth Englishwoman to score 2000+ runs in the shortest format. The wily leggie bagged her 50th T20I wicket to become the ninth bowler from her country to do so.

The Derby-born bowler completed the feat with her first wicket of the match in the form of Orla Prendergast, and she later went to bag Mary Waldron and Leah Paul.

Whereas Sciver might have failed with the bat against the Irish side; however, she is being looked at as England's best bet to bag the final silverware.

After beating West Indies and Ireland, England have almost advanced to the following stage of the tournament. They must win one of their next games against India and Pakistan.

On Monday, during the Auction of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023, the English deputy-in-chief was the joint-second highest purchase; meanwhile, Sarah Glenn didn't get any buyers.
