After an emphatic victory in the first Test, India will take on Australia in the second match in Delhi on Friday.

Apart from cricket, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 has been plagued with injuries to key players from both sides.

India's middle-order mainstay Shreyas Iyer, who missed the Nagpur Test, is unlikely to feature in Delhi as well.

As per PTI, Iyer is still undergoing rehabilitation from a back injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

The Mumbai batter missed the ODI series against New Zealand due to the same injury and was sent to the NCA for reassessment.

He is currently working on his strength and conditioning routines, but may not be pushed back into international cricket very quickly.

The batter could be asked to play the upcoming Irani Cup match scheduled for March 1 to prove his fitness.

Earlier, India had released pacer Jaydev Unadkat from the Test squad to play for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy final.

If Iyer doesn't recover for the last two Tests, we might see Sarfaraz Khan getting his maiden India call-up.
