Women's Premier League auction: Full Squad of all teams

In a remarkable turn of events, the auction for the inaugural season of the Women's Premier League has marked its conclusion. While some players fetched billion-dollar deals, some big names couldn't attract any bidders, surprising fans and experts. 

As the event has been done and dusted, let's see how the teams have shaped up for the tournament. 


Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai-based franchise started their auction campaign extraordinarily, bagging Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Natalie Sciver and Amelia Kerr. 

But they went a bit overboard for Pooja Vastrakar and Yastika Bhatia, spending a whopping 3.4 Crores for them. 

However, they made a good comeback in the accelerated round, getting Heather Graham, Hayley Matthews and Chloe Tryon cheaply.

The Giants looked focused in the auction, as they waited for their targeted players to arrive. They sought the services of Australian stalwarts Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney, while picking fearsome batters Sophia Dunkley and Deandra Dottin for a mere 1.2 Crores. 

In the accelerated round, the Giants focused on buying emerging talents to fill up their squad.

The UP Warriorz were focused on buying renowned T20 players in the auction, as they bagged Sophie Ecclestone, Shabnim Ismail, Tahlia McGrath and Deepti Sharma for decent prices. 

However, their best buy was the swashbuckling Grace Harris, whom they stole for just 75 Lakhs. Overall, the Warriorz had an impressive outing in the auction.

Delhi Capitals failed to buy a single player in the first two rounds. But they went bonkers for Shafali Verma for a whopping 2 Crores. After that, they got some excellent players in Meg Lanning, Jemimah Rodrigues, Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey for reasonable prices.

In the accelerated round, they focused on strengthening their spin department by buying Poonam Yadav and Jess Jonassen.

Megan Schutt and Dane van Niekerk were two steal deals by RCB.
