To everyone's surprise, Alyssa Healy was sold for just INR 70 lakh to Gujarat Giants in the Women's Premier League auctions.

Arguably one of the best top-order batters in the world, Healy is an aggressive player and her game style perfectly suits the shortest format.

Having made her debut in 2010, Healy has been a cornerstone for the Aussie side for the past 13 years. Alongside Rachael Haynes, she formed a formidable left-right combo for the Aussies, that worked wonders for her nation.

She is best known for her exploits at the 2022 Women's World Cup. The 32-year-old smashed centuries in the semis, and in the finals as Australia reclaimed the World title crown.

Post the 2022 World Cup, Healy was appointed the Aussie skipper in the absence of Meg Lanning, who took an indefinite break from the game. She suffered from hamstring injury in the India tour last year, but got fit right in time for the ongoing T20 World Cup.

So far, she has amassed 2355 runs in 137 matches, at a strike-rate of 128.
