In a significant development, swashbuckling Indian batter Shafali Verma has been picked by Delhi Capitals for a reasonable price of 2 crores in the ongoing Women's Premier League auction.
The right-hander, known for her aggressive batting in the powerplay, initially attracted Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, who went through a fierce auction battle to bag her services.
However, as soon as the price reached the 1.20 Crore-mark, Mumbai pulled themselves out of the race, with the Royal Challengers Bangalore filling their shoes.
