After starting on a slow note, UP Warriorz have picked up the pace and have signed Australian sensation, Tahlia McGrath for INR 1.40 crore at the WPL auction.

A backbone of the Australian middle order, McGrath had a meteoric rise at the international level, and will fill in the middle order slot to perfection for the Warriorz.

The team from UP now have two stellar all-rounders in the ranks. They also bought Deepti Sharma for 2.60 crore.

Having made her international debut in 2016, McGrath instantly became a key player for the Meg Lanning side. With her ODI and Test career going at a decent pace, it was in the shortest format wherein the explosive batter showed her prowess. When India women toured Australia in 2021, she showed her mettle with some brute hitting that caught the eyes of cricketing world.

McGrath has played 22 T20I matches, and has amassed 557 runs, at an astonishing strike-rate of 140. Moreover, she has picked up 13 wickets, at 16.23.

Her Australian teammate, Beth Mooney was sold to Gujarat Giants for INR 2 crore.
