In what comes as a massive development, Australia have called up Queensland spinner Matthew Kuhnemann for the remaining three Tests of their ongoing series against India. He will replace Mitchell Swepson, who will return home for the birth of his first child.

Regarded as a wily craftsman in the Australian domestic circuit, Kuhnemann has 32 wickets to his name in 12 First-Class appearances. He has represented Australia in four ODIs, scalping six wickets at an impressive economy of 5.02.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old recently enjoyed stellar success in the Big Bash League, as he emerged as the go-to man for Brisbane Heat, scalping 16 wickets at a strike rate of 21.

More importantly, he recorded these impressive numbers despite playing a majority of the games at the Gabba, where spinners generally don't get substantial assistance.

His ability to deceive the batters with his guile and accuracy was certainly evident in the BBL, which is why he can be the weapon Australia need to change their fortunes in India.

As the second Test is scheduled in Delhi, where a square-turner is likely to be dished out, Kuhnemann's Test debut looks on the cards.

With Nathan Lyon's experience and Todd Murphy's red-hot form, the visitors have certainly planned to strangle the hosts in their spin web.

Also, as per some emerging reports, the visitors might replace veteran batter David Warner with Travis Head at the top of the order.

So, considering their strategic moves, we anticipate the Aussies to give India a tougher challenge in the Delhi Test starting February 17.
