The 5th match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2023 will feature Bangladesh Women up against Sri Lanka Women at Newlands, Cape Town in a crucial Group 1 encounter.

The Sri Lankan women are fresh from a roaring victory against the hosts South Africa where they defended 130 in a tense battle on the last delivery. Thanks to skipper Chamari Athapaththu's 68 and 3/18 from Inoka Ranaweera, both of whom decimated the Proteas women on the opening night.

Bangladesh Women, on the other hand, were whitewashed by the New Zealand Women's side in December in the 3-match T20I series. They would mostly be depended on captain Nigar Sultana, Salma Khatun and Jahanara Alam to put on a show against some of the strong and formidable sides.

Match Details

Date & Time: February 10, 10:30 PM IST

Pitch Report: The pitch here is expected to be slow as it was in the first game of the World Cup. Spinners will play a major role as the score could be in range of 130 and 140. Team winning the would be looking to bat first as chasing gets little difficult here.

Key Players

  • Chamari Athapaththu proved her worth with an outstanding 68-run knock against South Africa. Expect her to pile on runs in this tournament.
  • Salma Khatun could be influential for her side as she can pick wickets with her deceiving off-breaks.
  • Inoka Ranaweera bowled extremely well in the last where she picked up three wickets and as the tournament progresses, could bag more.
