After a scintillating century in the first Test against Australia, skipper Rohit Sharma was relieved with his performance as the Indian side thwacked the visitors badly, allowing them just 177 runs in the first innings and then rolling them over for just 91 in the second.

Within these two innings, the home side struck 400 runs, thanks to a marvellous century by captain Sharma and fighting half-centuries from all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.

However post-match, the right-hander revealed he has been an experienced customer on these kinds of pitches where the ball spins making it difficult to settle in.

"To be honest, in the last few pitches we have been playing in India, you need to have a key plan. I have played a lot of matches here in Mumbai, in pitches where the ball turns a lot. I have started to think, what can threaten me, and trying to pan out my plans,"

Moreover, he spoke about his batting technique he used in this game which is a little different to how he usually bats. Rohit revealed that he was trying to use his feet as it makes it slightly easier to face the spinning deliveries.

"Sometimes you need to be a little unorthodox, need to use the feet. You cannot allow the bowlers at one spot every time. Need to do something different. It is important to see what are your strengths, and what you can do. And I just go and try to do what I can do."

India will next be playing the match against Australia on 17th February in Delhi.
