The ICC Women's World Cup is on the way and we have been treated with an exciting encounter in the very first match between South Africa and Sri Lanka. The 'Morning has showed the day' and the tournament will seemingly be and interesting one.

Moving onto match number three, the trans-Tasmanian rivals, Australia and New Zealand will be facing each other. The match will be taking place at Boland Park in Paarl on Saturday 11th February at 10:30 PM IST.

Even before the starting of the tournament, there have been talks of how the current Australian is way above their competitors. They have faced a shock defeat against Ireland in one of  the practice matches and will be eager to prove that was one sudden off day in the office. The defending champions will be taking the field for the first time in the tournament and we expect to see a performance that justifies the team strength.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand team will be looking to establish themselves as a strong contender for the trophy in the very first match. They will try to put in a strong show and test their  defending champions. They have a well-rounded team with most of their bases covered. The history of rivalry and the stage has all set it up for a cracker of a contest and we are expecting an action packed match.

AU-W vs NZ-W, Match 3: Top Five Picks

  1. Ellyse Perry (AU-W): The Australian all-rounder has loads of experience behind her. Ellyse Perry has the ability to change the course of any match with both the bat and the ball. Perry is certainly a player no one can miss out on on this match.
  2. Suzie Bates (NZ-W): The top order batter will be a very important cog in the 'White Ferns' bowling machinery. Bates has the ability to be aggressive when necessary and can also play the role of a stabilizer at the top order if needed.
  3. Alyssa Healy (AU-W): The Australian wicketkeeper can take the game away from the grasp of the opposition playing an aggressive brand of cricket in the top order. She has the knack of performing in big matches and hence is a player to bet on for this match.
  4. Sophie Devine (NZ-W): The 'White Ferns' skipper is a true leader in the true sense of the term. Sophi Devine can play a defining role with both the bat and the ball and hence can be a very crucial pick for this match.
  5. Alana King (AU-W): With the picthes in South Africa tiring down spin can take the centre stage in the tournament. Alana King might turn out to be a trump card for the match.
