Jordan, Wiese outweigh Pollard's fifty
If not for Kieron Pollard, MI Emirates would have had a miserable fall as they failed to get going till the halfway stage of the first innings.
While Carlos Brathwaite showed the door to Andre Fletcher in the second over, Chris Jordan and David Wiese made sure that the Emirates found no escape route.
Put in to bat first, Pollard and Co. moved at a snail's pace till their skipper took the onus and exhibited how things are meant to be done in his favourite format.
Coming in at 67/4 in the 11th over, the West Indian added 57 runs for his team, leading them to a total of 167/5.
Giant Vince secures the win
Chasing 168 runs, Gulf Giants were provided with a 64-run powerplay as James Vince and Chris Lynn won half the battle for their side.
Cruising towards the target, Gulf Giants had their one foot in the final. However, Fazalhaq Farooqi grabbed two wickets on his consecutive deliveries in the 13th over as the Giants found themselves at 108/4.
Nonetheless, it happened to be a complete sham as Vince's sensible 56-ball 83 took them home in the 19th over with four wickets to spare.
