England started their tour of New Zealand with a comprehensive batting performance against NZ XI in a warm-up encounter, inviting applause from their Test coach Brendon McCullum.  England are due to play a short two-Test series against the Black Caps.

Batter Harry Brook, who will form a crucial cog in the England line-up come the first Test, slammed hit five sixes in an over in the tour match. As per the BBC, McCullum, who has changed the fortunes of England's Test side since taking over last year, said that he is left in awe of England's players, looking at the sheer talent and skills they possess.

Here's what McCullum said

"The shots and some of the skills they possess is pretty insane. From a coaching point of view, it's pretty exciting to watch the talent some of these guys have got.

We sit back in awe at times of how good these guys can be. Hopefully we're able to see them continue to develop."

The former New Zealand captain lauded Ben Stokes for his leadership skills, apart from acknowledging former coach Chris Silverwood and skipper Joe Root for keeping the Three Lions afloat despite a poor run in Tests.

The first Test begins on February 16 at Mount Maunganui.
