'No Regret of losing captaincy in the past'- Imad Wasim

Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim has opened up on shouldering captaincy duties once again for his franchise after Babar Azam left the team ahead of the Pakistan Super League 2023 edition. 

During an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Imad heaped huge praise on the former captain Babar Azam. He also stated that he has no regrets about previously losing the captaincy to him and is eager to deliver a stronger performance as a team this time around. 

Here's what Imad Wasim said

"There is no doubt about his (Babar's) abilities. But it doesn't matter to us. Players come and go, but nobody is more important than the team. Now he's playing for a different team; so I wish good luck to him, this time we want to play aggressive cricket. There's no regret for losing the leadership in the past; now that the responsibility has been given again, we will try to present a better game as a team."

The 2022 edition of PSL was a disappointing one for the Karachi Kings under Babar Azam's leadership, as they managed to secure only one win in ten matches and missed out on the playoffs. 

Imad Wasim was the captain who guided the Karachi Kings to victory in the sixth edition of PSL, but he was later swapped out for Babar Azam despite his championship success.

The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League will take place from 13 February to 19 March. It will see 34 matches played in Pakistan across four venues: Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi and Lahore.
