WPL: Jhulan Goswami elated to join MI Women's team

Former India pacer, Jhulan Goswami is happy to join MI Women's team ahead of the Women's Premier League season (WPL). She has joined the franchise as a bowling coach and mentor and wants to continue the winning legacy that MI carries.

Apart from Goswami, the franchise has also roped in former England skipper, Charlotte Edwards, and former India all-rounder Devieka Palshikaar as head coach and batting coach respectively.

Regarded as one of the greatest bowlers of all-time, Goswami was a pivotal part of the Indian team, and took 350 international wickets in a career that spanned 20 years. She holds the record of most wickets in the history of Women's ODI cricket.

Goswami was ecstatic after joining the franchise

"Hello, Paltan. I am very happy to join the Mumbai Indians women's team as the bowling coach and mentor. Looking forward to working with the girls, with Charlotte and Devieka by my side. MI has always had a winning mentality and we will be looking to carry on that legacy. See you soon," Jhulan Goswami said.

Ever since the WPL was announced by the BCCI, the excitement level has reached across the globe. The women's T20 World Cup is about to commence in a few days time, but a lot of players have stated that the WPL auction is like a 'big elephant in the room.'

The Women's Premier League auction takes place on February 13.
