On Thursday, India's much-awaited face-off against Australia begins with the first Test in Nagpur.

Whenever these two teams clash on a cricket field, Virat Kohli becomes the centre of attraction for many.

The talismanic Indian batter has enjoyed stellar success against Australia, amassing 1682 runs at a tremendous average of 48.06.

However, he hasn't been able to replicate the same level of success against the same opponent at home, managing only 330 runs at a modest average of 33.

However, former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar has backed the legendary batter to unleash his vintage best against the visitors in the upcoming series.

The ex-player reverberated how Kohli brings out his A game versus Australia, expecting him to translate his recent white-ball success in this series.

"He loves playing against Australia. He loves to have that banter against Australian players and raises his game. Test cricket brings the best out of Virat Kohli. Yes, the last two-and-a-half years haven't been as productive by his standards. So he would want to continue the freshness of approach that he has enjoyed in the T20 and ODI formats and now he would look to transform that into Test cricket as well. So he is going to make a big bang and create an impact in this series as well."

Notably, Kohli had a poor series against New Zealand recently. So, the 34-year-old will aim at turning things around when he faces Pat Cummins and co in Nagpur.
