The much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy is upon us, and both India and Australia are busy making last-minute preparations ahead of the Nagpur Test. Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has said that much of Australia's success will depend on Nathan Lyon's performance.

Lyon is one of the leading exponents of off-spin bowling and has managed to tie down Indian batters in India on every tour, claiming 34 wickets in 7 Tests.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Karthik stated that Lyon would be under immense pressure and that one poor session for the bowler could turn the match against Australia.

Here's what Karthik explained

"India's Achilles heel has not been spin bowling but off-spin, interestingly. They have a world-class spinner in Lyon. You also must understand that he will be under a lot of pressure, knowing that he will be the key for Australia to steer the ship in which direction it needs to go. One bad session from Lyon's part could see the Test match move in a direction against Australia, and that's a lot of pressure to handle."

The keeper-batter added that India has the depth and experience to support Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, while Australia lacks the same for Lyon.

The first Test between the two teams starts on Thursday in Nagpur.
