Pakistan international Iftikhar Ahmed, who recently played for the Fortune Barishal in BPL 2023, just smacked Wahab Riaz for six sixes in an over. The cricketer achieved the feat against the senior Pakistani speedster in a PSL exhibition match, eight days before the commencement of the actual tournament.

Turning up for his PSL side, the Quetta Gladiators, he clubbed Riaz for six sixes off the final over of the innings, thus finishing with an unbeaten score of 94 from just 50 deliveries.

Pakistan’s 32-year-old batter Iftikhar Ahmed scored 94* and propelled the Quetta Gladiators to mount 184 against the Peshawar Zalmi. Notably, the bowler who received the stick off the final over had dismissed Gladiators batters Ahsan Ali and Umar Akmal cheaply earlier in the innings.

The cricketer’s attacking 94 aside, Khushdil Shah also scored a handy 36 and was the second top-scorer for his team.

Both Ahmed and Riaz are expected to represent their respective sides in the upcoming PSL 2023 season. The tournament will kick-off with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on last year’s runners-up Multan Sultans.

Meanwhile, the Gladiators will go up against Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi on February 20 at Karachi’s National Stadium. The two sides will meet again in a return fixture on March 8 in match number 25 of the month-long tournament.
