Bomb Blast halts PSL's exhibition game between Quetta and Peshawar

Pakistan Super League's exhibition match between Sarfaraz Ahmed's Quetta Gladiators and Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi saw a halted 30 minutes after a bomb blast took place near the Bugti Stadium in Quetta.

The authorities have reported some injuries, while the fans inside the stadium pelted stones in anger. As a precaution, the players were rushed inside the dressing rooms, and the management had to close the doors of the ground to avoid any unfortunate incident.

Quetta is infamously known for such mishaps as the city is close to Afghanistan's border, making it a conflict-prone region. Earlier in the week, another such incident was reported in Peshawar when a blast blew off in a full-packed mosque. 

As far as the game is concerned, players such as Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Umar Akmal and Iftikhar Ahmed are playing in it. 

In this very game, Iftikhar headlined by tonking six sixes off a Wahab Riaz' over, helping the Gladiators post a massive total on board and smashing an unbeaten 94 off 50 balls.

The Pakistan middle-order batter had a sluggish start to his innings, as he completed his half-century off 42 deliveries but then he took on Wahab before scoring the next 44 runs in just 8 deliveries.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has already announced the schedule of the upcoming edition of the PSL, starting from February 13 with the clash between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans. 

Interestingly, no games have been allotted to Quetta as the league will be played just in Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Rawalpindi.
